Im after some TPMS senders...ie the bit in the tyre.....

Im getting an additional set of wheels for winter tyres and want the TPMS to work

(they are just the rims)

so......anyone know where its possible to get them from...other than your Lotus dealer....

Ive had an email from these people who have advised me its free shipping to the UK for a set of 4

 

I am very tempted.....but......at $110....about £77 theyre very cheap.....

that cheap they make me wary....

They are crap. First thing I did to the car was to turn that off after 1 month. A proper calibrated hand gauge used every week is much better and more interesting to use.

 

 

If I could pry them off my wheels without damaging them you could have them for free!

????  In what way do you find them crap?  Accuracy or what?  I have 2 sets, one on each set of rims and very accurate in direct comparison to a calibrated motorsport grade hand held.  The point surely is they detect a slow puncture before you get too far on and either damage tyre or worse.

I got the Saab ones mentioned earlier in this post on my 2nd set of wheels. Works great and as Al. mentioned gives a warning if something is slowely developing. For track days I use a hand gauge though.

I found them crap for a couple of reasons that eventually I found out were common experiences with others who tried them on various track cars - with temp changes the pressure number constantly changes and becomes a meaningless number on the dash and several times set off low pressure warning when nothing remiss was actually happening. 

And the sensors seldom calibrate correctly - when the tires were all even (checked with my calibrated guage) often the number on the dash was different for some wheels. So gave up trusting it and then what is it - pointless weight to counter balance on the wheels with wheel weights.  

 

I did not get them mounted on my second set of wheels. And when the time comes to refurb my set which has them they will be removed.

 

Bottom line is I don't trust them and its a common experience.

Ouch £80 for one sensor! 

Much cheaper to buy a set of Autel sensors and programmer pad.  The Lotus system on the Evora uses 433Mhz and the sensors need to be programmed with an ID number and system will detect the sensors and learn which sensor is where after driving for a few miles.  The sensors do need an ID programmed in the first place so you can't use the Autel sensors straight of the shelf.  The Autel programmer should be able to clone your existing sensors if you want to keep the ID the same but as long as the sensor is programmed with an ID the system will self learn.

Set of 4 sensors are available for around £80-90 and the USB programming pad is available for around £40-60.   Here are just one link out of many from Ebay also many sellers on Amazon selling both Autel sensors and programmers.

Be careful with the SAAB sensors as discussed elsewhere on the forum I bought a set of these and they didn't work at all with my car. I ended up buying Autel sensors and the machine to program them.

If you want to buy a set of Autel sensors I'm willing to program them for you and post them back. They cost about £22 each and they fit the wheels better than the OEM sensors. I've done this for a few users now.

@G. Bell  I've read quotes for the life of the sensor battery around 7-8 years.  So could be highly likely your LE Evora sensors are getting close to end of life.  Might be worth considering buying a full set 4 as the other sensors may be on the way out soon too.

Yeah, I was expecting them to go soon. I hoped that the sensors would last until I needed to change the tyres but unfortunately 2 have died in the last week. So time for tyre & TPMS refresh, as well as a wheel refurb and wheel bolt refresh as everything is looking a little tired.

Have you tried doing this for the later post 2017 cars with part A132G6017F  my maxitpms does not read/recognize the sensors in my evora (they are fitted as the come up on the cars display) and the evora options on the machine only have the older part number referenced in its display. I have to the latest version, only really bought it to program via cloning a set of black wheels for my wife's RR evoque, and it worked well for that. The reason I ask is that if i bought a spare set of wheels for the evora i thought i get the tpms working to keep the car happy..

I just bought a set of 19/20 wheels but these came without the sensors.
Car now shows an alert so I thought I would disable the module by disconnecting the connector in the boot (as mentioned on https://wiki.seloc.org/a/Tyre_Pressure_Monitoring_System).

Unfortunately, this didn't work, the dash is still showing an alert. Did I do something wrong?

Yes, you didn't fit sensors.

I bought my Launch Edition with a valve & sensor gummed up by previous owner using the can of goo such that I couldn't check pressure or put air in.   

Easy solution was Lotus Dealer, the Part No for Evora LE is B121G6000F and it cost me £75.

Before fitting it I noticed a GM Part No 13227143 on it so did some searching and saw 4 for £120 on ebay which I bought because the other 3 OE are 11 years old, but still going strong.

I have Winter Wheels with TPMS and when I swap wheels, or fitted the new sensor, have found it does take several miles before the sensors are talking to the display... so don't despair, I thought I'd wasted £75 for quite a long time !

ISTR that the ‘unplug module’ method never worked for me. (I suspect that the ‘missing’ module would also produce the warning light). The only way that I could disable the TPMS was via Lotus Techcentre (at a dealer).

Seems quite a big range in terms of costs: between eur80 and eur160 for the same part (but different vendor), for example

I ignored the lower prices as they are not what Lotus supplied so no guarantee they will work .. if they are GM and have 13227143 moulded on them they are EXACTLY what Lotus supply so will certainly work....   eventually.
