Four greens for me.

A matt green Ford Corsair

Followed by a matt green Mk1 Cortina GT,  Which I hand painted red with a Starsky and Hutch white stripe,

Mid eighties I had a dark metallic green BMW525 (awful car)

I'd finally made it in '92 with my BRG XJ6 with pepperpots.

Yep!

A few may remember Alex’s imp 😂 it’s not exactly easy to forget! That and his old green N/A S3 esprit... which we are still trying to find!

Wow I've only ever seen one Kermit green "Imp" before and it's this 1:43 model one I have in my office:

Maybe the colour of the above one was inspired by the full-size version of mine?

@LotusLeftLotusRight believe it or not, the paint was mixed up to go on his old boss’s race car... which happened to be an Exige! Said boss saw the swatch of the colour and decided it was way too bright! So there was a quantity of virtually fluorescent green paint and an imp which needed a respray!

My dad had one, but it was a Holden Kingswood station wagon.

Does that count?

Since I have a red one, if I say I am colour blind, could I say it is green?

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

Had several.

Landrover series 2a 1964. Ford Sierra 1982. Ford Sierra Estate 1983. Mitsubishi Legnum VR4 1996. Lotus Turbo Esprit 1982.

My dad had a few as well including a spectacularly bright sparkly Chrysler Avenger estate in metallic green.

:)

It's getting there......

My Dad bought a green Renault 16 TX as a 57th birthday present to himself. It was his ideal car...he drove it home and said to me: "This one will see me out".... Mum said..."But it's GREEN..."

His heart gave out a month later. On the evening of my brother's wedding.

I wouldn't touch a green car with an 11 foot bargepole.

Tried to let this one go but do you really believe the colour of the paint had anything to do with what happened?

Sorry of course to hear of a personal tragedy, not wishing to make light of that in any way, particularly cruel timing for your brother and the whole family, my sincere condolences but I just can't see how the car and specifically the paint could be to blame in any way.

Logically, of course, you are quite correct. The whole thing has to be coincidental. I still remember my mother saying "But it's GREEN..." and explaining to her that the colour couldn't possibly have any effect, adverse or otherwise. I had bought a bottle of champagne to celebrate the new arrival..."demi sec" as Dad wasn't into really dry wine, and we were sipping this when he remarked that this car would see him out. This was on his birthday, 27th July...and exactly a month later, 27th August, on the evening of the wedding, he collapsed and died. I wasn't there but only found out on my return, hours later...and all our lives had changed totally. Completely impossible that the pigment of the paint on the car could have had any influence, of course, utterly illogical and superstitious poppycock. As I had explained to my mum. However, green cars are for other people; not for me.

A very sad story, sorry for your loss.

No colour is for everyone obviously, I hope you have enjoyed numerous other colour cars since.

Abit of a BRG problem; RD350 Cafe, CB750F, VW Dasher, 76 Celica,  RX-7, and now one of these (not mine, mine sets fires):

Not yet. But it will happen. Almost definitely will be something from Hethel in green.  You got me thinking so car colours by acquisition, chronological order from beginning of my car buying time:

Sky blue. Met Brown. Slate blue. Blue. Red. Silver. Red. Black  Red. Red. Blue. Blue. Black. Black . Slate Grey. White. Silver. Slate grey. Silver. Silver. Red. White. Red. Black. Red. Silver. Grey. Red. Red.

Hmmm. So owned around 30 vehicles in the 35 years I have been driving. Some pretty solid patterns/preferences there. Quite a restrictive palette really. Needs some motorsport green......

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!
