Hello Willi, I was wondering if the gearknob would be mentioned. Thought Bravo73 would have. That part never made it past that press/pre-production car and never became production intent early on in the programme. It was a Mansory item, as were the sill scuff plates and floor mats with the roundel on. Need I say more?

A model year change happens during the summer period of the "previous year" so for example, MY12 cars started in production August 2011.

Just seen this. Does it make my car very rare then?

Surely worth tonnes more money...?

Holy crap! Where has the gearstick gone?!?!

🤣

Must be one of those Friday at 5pm cars. Probably couldn't find one in the parts bin.

Just read this topic. My car is a 2014 SportRacer  and I have floormats with the round signe. Even if it does not have a  gearstick, how is that possible, considering that the florrmats with round sign were in cars built before MY 2012 ?

A couple of things not clear to me about the late model year cars.

This front bumper doesn't look the same as the 400 or 410 sport front end?

https://www.topgear.com/car-reviews/lotus/evora-400/35-v6-gt430-2dr/first-drive

When did it change, which models came with this bumper?

Also the Evora GT with 416hp was that model ever available in the UK/Europe or did we only get 410/430 options?

thanks in advance, these questions have been bothering me a while.

That newer bumper is on the GT410 and GT430.

The Evora GT was a USA only car and retained the styling of much of the Evora 400/Sport 410 as the newer cf bumper didn't meet the car park impact testing requirements in the USA.

:)

I’m going to view a 2009 LE car soon. I hate car alarms and associated tech so how reliable is the Evora alarm immobiliser central locking and key fobs? Should each car have 2 working fobs? What should I be looking for and testing to make sure?

Nothing in the buyer’s guide as yet.

What parts are replaced at major services? Do the valves need adjusting? No cam belt but what about cam chains? Serpentine belts water pumps etc

How often does the gearbox diff oil need replacing?

How much oil does the engine take?

Ive heard a few early cars had paint blister issues so where do I look for this starting , common problem areas? GRP stress cracks.

Does the air con work in cold weather for testing or only above a certain temperature? AC is a big cost item and it’s not been replaced as yet on the car I’m checking.
I’ve lots of things to check really but expect it will need some resto work.

It's not hard to get another fob if one isn't working though it's a bit of a pain to reprogram. The alarm and immobiliser seem to be reliable.

Belts will need changing obviously, but not the biggest job in the world, the chains almost certainly need checking around 100k miles as per every other car with cam chains.

Paint blistering often appears under the boot/engine hatch. Can obviously be fixed if necessary. AC should still work even when it's cold. It's blooming freezing if you use it to defrost your window in the winter.

A couple of years ago I had a couple of Evora NA’s, which were great to drive but ultimately I found myself preferring my Elise S1 (as I’ve had one for so long I think).

Fast forward to now and I’m considering a 400 manual.   Always admired them when they were launched but couldn’t possibly justify one at the time.

As well as the regular maintenance/servicing, I recall a list of things / weak points that you had to check / look out for with the NA, how many of these things still apply with the 400, and what else is there?

Any help/experiences would be much appreciated.

Clutch

Door electrics - micro switches, window motors

Air con compressor

Sidelight / indicator / headlight LEDs

Headlight lacquer peel

Passenger airbag cover lifting

Dead pixels on screens either side of the binnacle

Water leaks in boot / footwells

Clutch pedal squeak when cold

Wind noise from A pillars
