Not a cloud in the sky here and my car said 40 Degrees a few mins ago! I was standing outside at 3am this morning after a bottle of Peach and Strawberry Gin forced me to drink it and it was still nearly 30 degrees. Luckily we have Air Con in the bedroom so Yippee!

Just been watching the fires on Sky News and then went outside and could smell smoke 🙁. Hopefully its nothing but have just been told people in the village are commenting on Facebook that they can smell smoke as well.

Unexpectedly had about 10 minutes of pouring rain here in Hampshire at 6 o/c tonight. Outside temperature only dropped 2 deg from 38 to 36 but has since gone down to 29. 

I’m ever thankful that after a lifetime working in the air conditioning industry, I decided  several years ago to treat myself to an a/c system integrated into the house. Bloody lovely it’s been these last couple of days too!👌

While many are complaining about the excessive heat, life in general and the cost of living etc, I am sitting on a sofa that costs £3,500. I’m lovely and cool in front of an air-con unit costing £2,300. I’m watching the latest film on a 70" smart TV that costs £4,000
Right now, I'm happy, with no worries and not a care in the world, not even the employees at the shopping centre who keep asking me to leave can spoil my day........

I was worried by the fires in London, no doubt we will find out they were started by a wanker with a lit cigarette butt (I say this as was in Cheshire Monday night and outside of a COOP shop a guy flicked a lit butt onto the tinder dry grass last night - I asked him if he thought that was wise - he told me to fcuk off - so I just put my demented face on and screamed at him that he was a fcuking wanker who should have been strangled at birth and had no right to be alive as he was an idjeet - it seemed to work as he actually went and picked it up and put it in the bin next to him!  Go figure).

I really do despair at peoples stupidity.

London narrowly avoided post-heatwave blackout ---- almost a major incident?????

Increased demand for energy across Europe, combined with a bottleneck in the grid, forced National Grid's Electricity System Operator (ESO) to buy electricity from Belgium at the highest price Britain has ever paid to keep power flowing.

While the amount bought at the record amount was minimal, reportedly enough to supply eight houses for a year, it has exposed the UK's reliance on importing electricity from interconnectors overseas, particularly France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

The above is ironic given that we are exporting gas to Europe, through the Netherlands, at an increased rate of 185%. The purpose?  To support Europe to replenish and fill its gas storage facilities in preparation for a hard winter with likely supply issues from Russia.

If only we hadn't shut down our own gas storage facilities.

If only we hadn't shut down a majority of our gas power plants.....

What is also ironic is Belgian press reported we too had a shortage, so had to get electricity from Germany and France...

No doubt there's a lot more playing than just supply and demand.
