What made me happy today. Well ecstatic to be honest. The Black Elite from LotusRescue went for an MOT and didn't she just go and pass. Had to change a couple of flexi hoses last week which was only to be expected, but she has gone through with two advisories.

Not to bad for a 40 year old car that's been in storage for years.

So. For sale, 1978 Lotus Elite comes with rebuilt engine which is first class and showing great oil pressure. And everything works. Complete with new MOT. As of April next year she will be MOT exempt.

Checked the new law's and for a car to become MOT exempt, it must be over 40 (read that as 40 years and one day) years old on the date depicted as the cut off date, April 1st I think.  If the car is registered after the  cut off date, it must have a full MOT until the following year and you must notify the DVLA of change to historical vehicle.

This made me happy too! I get a chunk of my yard back when the Elite and subsequent Excel moves down the production line 🤗

So not a day to be happy as I have been way too busy for that.

- First baby girl 5.5 months ago. Finally seem to be gelling with her. 

- Long trip to the Philippines and Japan for work. 6 weeks of easy work and partying. 

- The yard is full of interesting cars despite moving on the Eclat Riviera 😭

- Today has begun the big task of stripping out the concrete base from the main workshop.  Bloody hard work on one of the hottest days of the year but 1/4 of the way through is somewhat encouraging.  

 

Just happy really.  Not moody, just slowly moving forward.

Heading out to the IoM with 13 others for a wee bit of hooning over 5 days on the IoM.

Happy today. Lets make that 2 days. Great weekend at Glamis with 38 cars out of an expected 42 One so dedicated that he stayed up until four in the morning to repair a rear end shunt had had on Saturday so that he could be on the stand for 10 am Sunday morning, now that's dedication. David, you'r a star. Also heard the Brian Angus came on the stand for a visit and of course I missed him. Thanks to Jim Selkirk (Twin Rotor) for the video which is one of many showing some of the cars from Saturday and most of these came back on Sunday plus a few additions. Our Saturday night meal and dram went down well with everyone being well behaved. We were presented with a rather nice cake in the form of Jim Clarks No5 (photo's later) car which was rather nice. Thanks Tina and Tim and well done for at last getting the Essex Blue dry sump out and on the road, it was great to see it. Leven Lotus presented us with a rather nice 430 demonstrator so a great thanks to them for following the support previously given by Murray Motors of Edinburgh, it's much appreciated. We had a fantastic collection of new and old cars to show which the public appreciated and with Brian Swankies Excel pickup, well it was different and created a fair bit of interest.

Here is a small selection of what was on show filmed early on the Saturday morning which changed on the Sunday with a larger collection of Exige and Evora's. There were over 2,000 vehicles on show through the two fields with us being up on the Club stand display area. Not too sure about the commentary on here though.

Two years of planning and extreme expense, but worth every penny. 

This is my little family, and on Saturday I became the proud dad that walked his daughter down the Isle between rows of exotic and classic cars at Haynes international Motor Museum.

The entire long long day couldn't have been better, the venue chosen by my car mad daughter was fantastic (I'll post up some photos Later).

And one last thing...when I was thinking about buying an Esprit V8, everyone warned me about the expense, the same could be said for daughters!!!
