You are only saying that because you got home with the same wheels you left with...

Lol - my home town Tim, never had an issue there to be honest.

God doesn't want me, and the Devil isn't finished with me yet.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

New issue of Absolute Lotus arrived today. Then went to the magazine shop and they had Classic Sports cars "Lotus Legends" magazine which I purchased (of course).

Curious @Chillidoggy, what was your NZ residing mate saying in regard to the perceived state of things there? We visited that country for the 1st time earlier this year and were generally smitten.

Steve, if you're referring to whatever their current political situation might be, we never discussed it. My old schoolmate has been living there for well over 30 years, married a Kiwi, and lives somewhere near Auckland. He's never shown any inclination to return to the UK, so I guess that's an indicator.

I have been to NZ before on a cargo ship back in the 70's, but the only vague memories I have was the bar of the Whangarei Hotel and the Dominion Breweries drinking hall, so I can't really help on that score.

I do know that NZ is the car theft capitol of the world, and they have more sheep than people.

The wife and I went on a 14-day cruise to NZ.  We even looked into immigrating to NZ because we loved Akaroa.  However, there are only a few ways to become a Kiwi.  One, retire with several million dollars and do not take any jobs away from the NZ residents.  Two, have a skill or be a specialist in a profession that NZ cannot acquire within their own population.  Three, marry a NZ native.  Note:  the sheep population has been slowly reducing with NZ farmers choosing cows (more profits).  We cruised on Holland America ship Oosterdam about 12 years ago.  Yes, being a bloody American - driving on the left side of the road would be an issue for the wife and me.

"I thought it was Lambo" -  Thank you very much and now it's time to educate the Exotic Less.

Bill, don't sell yourself short on the flipped driving arrangement. Both Bro-in-law and myself found it fairly easy to make the adjustment, save the occasional activation of wipers when turn indicator was the intended target. Driver sits to the centre of the road in both traffic layouts, which does help. Wouldn't do to contemplate how the wives might cope, knowing them both that well. Likely just a matter of time for them but I'd dread being onboard in the near term, having become a reluctant passenger as I've aged.

As to auto theft Canada has had a massive problem in that regard lately as well. Brigades of filthy criminals worldwide it seems.
