I was about to ask the very same question. Would be nice if it did make it to production!

I have made many mistakes in my life. Buying a multiple Lotus is not one of them.

Yep, the TVR. I understand the owner of TVR drives it around.  Website suggests you can pay a deposit but I'd be cautious.

Welsh factory is history. Talk of Thruxton as a base.

Apparently Pistonheads.com has lots of chat about this but I'm not a TVR fan fanboy so I'll not be doing any further digging.

Didn't a lot of people receive their deposits back, as mentioned above, lost of discussion of this subject on Pistonheads.

In my opinion, too late now to manufacture, time has moved on,

Very interesting - thanks @Bibs

Now that is a 4 door Lotus I'd be interested in - although now that my daughter has just started university in Ohio, and it was my son's 1st day in 6th form today, a 4-door lotus is no longer on my wish list.

Often the way unfortunately, dread to think how murky it'll be come Sunday.

I'll not take the Evora to any Goodwood events, it's usually tucked away at the back of the Press car park anyway.

The classic car parks (tax exempt and pre-66) at Goodwood were nowhere near that bad. Despite the rain on Friday there was little or no mud, only on the access road. Saturday was drier, but you did see the grass was being torn up in places. We didn't go on Sunday (work on Monday 😞 ), if the rain was as heavy as predicted I can see it becoming quite challenging in places. But we all know Lotus are good offroad, light and nimble. 🙂

I remember a couple of times in the past getting my classic car spotlessly clean prior to exhibiting at an outdoor car show, only for it to be transformed into a mud-stained eyesore within a few minutes of arrival. It’s one of the reasons I don’t attend those sort of events anymore unless I know the conditions will be fine.

It was the way the pneumatic line was hurled away by the accelerating rear tyres - bloody hell.

That pit stop was a lot more impressive than the modern ones with 50 people around the car.....🤪

And they got the job done. 🙂

I went to see the historic racing at Francorchamps yesterday. Several series include a mandatory pit stop, but more often than not there's no real reason to come in. Unless they're changing drivers. So often you see someone cleaning a visor or checking tyre pressure, wheel nuts or such and just waiting before they can go out again. I think they have to remain stationary for a minimum amount of time. And no heavily drilled 50 people pit crew, just a few dedicated mechanics, often including who I think are the wives/ girlfriends of the drivers/ owners. I'm sure they're just as committed, even going as far as push starting a 70s F1 on the grid at the start of the formation lap!
