Oh and I'm happy as my 18 year old VX220 passed it's MOT first time and is ready for next weeks VX national we're I'll likely be black flagged on the warm up lap!!!

My SE passed it's APK (MOT) inspection today after being of the road for a very looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time.

I still can't read APK and not say it in Dutch - Ah Pay Ka!

(I lived there from age 6-10 so learnt basic child dutch, my dad still calls MOT's APK's just to be annoying/weird hahaa)

I certainly do...…...but I only bought it in Feb 2019 and I have done 400 more miles than the previous owner did since 2015.

Luckily, my Evora has done 10,000 miles with me since March 2018.

Well that was a weird one watching Killing Eve (which is excellent by the way) season 2 2nd episode and at the very start Villanelle gets out the boot of a car and walks down the road which is at the end of my road.

Ok, this is not what made me happy today but last Sunday.  I did the "Scare yourself sensible" course.  I can't recommend it enough.  The factory tour was worth the trip alone.  I was most impressed by Guy Munday's detailed knowledge of the processes.  While I was initially disappointed that I didn't get to ride with Martin Donelly, my instructor, Paul. could not be faulted.  It was also impressive that the Academy was using production cars to thrash around the track all day without them needing any work between sessions apart from refuelling.

If you haven't done it, do your best to as soon as you can!

The Evora's wheels were beginning to look a bit 'second-hand' as it has been 4 and a bit years and 40k miles since they were last refurbished. Although they have never once been near a kerb (some of us can drive, 😝 ) they were suffering from general road-rash and some lifting of the coating due to minor corrosion.

A local powder-coating business that only recently started trading was recommended to me on another forum and although slightly sceptical with the otherwise lack of reviews to go on, I decided to give them a go. The car was dropped off with them at 10 this morning and it was ready to collect 8 hours later.

What is apparent from today's experience is that you should never judge by outward appearances. This wasn't some flashy neon-lit unit on a modern industrial estate with a 'gang' of employees in snazzy matching uniforms, but rather an outbuilding on a farm beside a long-abandoned shale oil spoil heap, staffed by one guy in a well-worn boilersuit.

What they should be judged on is the standard of their work and it is nothing short of amazing - see for yourselves........

........and because I wasn't paying for some flashy premises, my wallet was only lightened to the tune of £200, :thumbsup: .
