All kidding aside, while a student I saw the guy next door just drain his oil in the parking lot! Me and the other people in the building were not amused.

I came close to buying a Harley before I got my first Lotus. I certainly don't regret my choice and where it lead me. 😉

This is very interesting for me as when I bought my Esprit in 1987 I had three choices for the budget of £10k I had.

• S3 Esprit NA
• 308 GT4
• E-type (can't remember which version)

There was a house 1/2 mile from me that had an Esprit. One Saturday in May 1987 it was out on the drive, I turned around and pulled up to the house and asked the owner about his experiences with the car.  He said that he was looking to part exchanging it for a Mercedes. I asked how much did he want, he said £10.5k. I replied take me for a drive - at the end of the drive I said that I'll buy it - had it ever since.

In 1987 turbos were £15k - so I got a bargain. I think that he had been offered £10k trade in value. and just added £500 on.

I applied G-force via the loud pedal; it fell out.  I can't be held to account for Margate Exotics' shoddy workmanship.

If your barn find is on the second floor, you need to think out of the box.

Should work just fine, as long as everything is securely strapped down.

Bit of an inconvenience doing that each time you want to drive it though. I would just keep it in the ground floor garage.

Over the weekend I thought I'd spend time cleaning & polishing my Alfa. Come up quite nicely for 19 year old paintwork.

Very rare Gabbiano blue with a rarer Alcantara interior.

Wait for another couple of dry days to clean the GT.
