Finally the summer has arrived 😊

Yes, the summer has been slow to arrive. Especially in North Yorkshire where temperatures have rarely got out of the mid-teens throughout May. I've not missed driving my open top car, but have managed quite a few nice days in the Esprit since April.

You can learn a lot from youtube vids...

I never knew the Esprit had an air cooled engine. 

This guys racing Esprit was so fast they had to have weight added to detune the car so other race cars could compete.

30 seconds of boost is another interesting fact I didnt know.

Also he bought the car new from the dealer and it didnt come with front spoiler as the dealer broke it as its too low for road use.

Lovely car, the X180R is my favorite Esprit. 😍

Too bad it's full of inaccuracies and even plain lies, like so many videos. Good thing I was having a beer while watching, or I might have gotten really annoyed. 😉

Recently bought this lovely beast! First time as a Lotus owner and although it’s a bit scruffy I love it. It has very little history with it so if anyone knows anything about its past please let me know. I have been in contact with Andy @ Lotus and he has given me a bit of information. Apparently the interior colour was a special customer order of red with magnolia - everything that is usually black leather is red on this one. Picture below with passenger seat removed for cleaning. I have also done a quick YouTube video here:

The one thing you did wrong... the acronym for Lotus is forbidden around these parts. They are as reliable as any other classic car if used regularly

Wheels have been remade by image wheels. The CX500 centres look the same, can be cut to any pcd and are far better made.
