Reading the Evija battery specs, 2000 kW sounds a lot of power. But then the battery pack only holds 70 kWh. So, running the 2000 plus horses flat out, the battery pack would empty in 126 seconds. Not even my Range Rover can empty its tank that fast! But I suppose you could always run in Eco mode if you actually wanted to drive anywhere. Now, where did I put that fusion generator?

But will find a point to recharge at each traffic light, and how many hours/minutes would it take.

I know these questions crop up from time to time, but do we have any idea of the total number of Evija orders to date and when the first customer car will be delivered? We know that the 2020 allocation was sold out, but that was presumably only a handful, which Covid has postponed into mid 2021. It’s now been 20 months since the unveil, so it will probably be a full 2 years until the first car is supplied. Do we really think they’ll sell 130 units at that price?

It's probably be capable of speeds much in excess of current tyre tech.

(Now Lotus content through parentage, and embraced by the electric wave. The 55 mph US national speed limit of the 70's is an era to be forgotten tho'😳  )

That's the Gridserve Electric Forecourt in Braintree.  It looks a bit like a high quality render - is it real?  The gubbins on the dash looks the same as the Goodwood cars, so telemetry and development kit.

Thanks for linking. Interesting that even senior Lotus executives now think they might not sell the 130 units production run. I wonder if that has anything to do with Popham moving on?

I think once this thing is really out there, in production spec, being driven by journo's who will enthuse profusely about how great it is, the remaining slots will be quickly taken up.  I just have a feeling it will be a success once it is "real".

Are they planning some sort of ICE soundtrack for the Evija or is it just going to be whatever noise the electrics make? Oh, and the spinning wheels no doubt.

Finally found the bit about the sound. Can remember seeing that a fair while ago. Had sort of forgotten about it. I wonder if the sound will be at Goodwood as well?

The TopGear latest video on the Evija for me is the best insight to where the company is heading, let’s hope the Evija and its siblings does what the Quattro did for Audi and be the front runners in the latest big game changing technology. Watching the video one as to believe that they are already there, the car as all the DNA to be a true drivers car and yes it’s light weight compared to its rivals. Let’s not even think what the next few months are going to bring with the launch of the Emira, if it looks half as good as the Evija and do the impossible of being the best driver’s car that the company as ever produced. We are in for a bumper year and the years long after. I have never been more excited for the brand.
