Ice Grey was always the one that will mark up worst.

Don't panic just yet. It may not be the finished article plus, who knows, it might have been a seat pounded by a machine 500,000 times 😀

If , in your early ownership, it really sags then I would say you are entitled to a re-trim.

Yes think how many people have got in and out of that car. probably a lifetime of use!

My understanding is that Lotus use Bridge of Weir for the leather. That is the best there is.

I so HOPE so, tunnels will never be the same 😎

I can thoroughly recommend the Clyde tunnel and the underpass tunnel at Copse corner, Silverstone. I've even had people chase me over to LDC or CL stands to say "WTF is that?" 😯

I wouldnlt fret too much on noise. It won;t take long to find out it we can hold the valve open to remove the last cat, etc.

@Vipers January for i4 FE sounds good. When did you place your deposit? 👍

Yes I got quoted January when I spoke with Lotus at FOS which was a pleasant surprise, have to say that the yellow one looked gorgeous, to be honest it is one of those cars which seems to suit any colour, still undecided on the interior, going to have to finalise very soon though.

Certainly great to see the Lotus stand so busy all weekend.

There was supposed to have been but it wasn't ready so never made it to Goodwood. Some may have noticed that the Seneca V6 was captioned i4 on the Goodwood live feeds when running up the hill as the car was changed but the entry wasn't (Source Stewart Croucher during my passenger ride up the hill on Friday) ....

differences between the i4 and v6

Sounds brilliant, it’s great to speak to the guys on the ground. They should let them on the sales floor sometimes but they’d probably only talk to 3 people all day, for 4hrs each!

did they go into much depth on the i4/v6 differences?

I wasn't really able to talk to anyone on the Lotus stand - I look quite young and the sales people seemed to be spending all their time speaking to middle aged men - not an uncommon thing at car shows.

I have the same problem. Both myself and my wife look quite a bit younger than we are, I've walked out of dealerships before because I couldn't get any attention from the Sales guys. It can be bl**dy frustrating when you actually intend to spend money with them and they ignore you.

Not a huge amount - I'm more interested in the V6 personally. The things he noted were that the i4 will be slightly lighter, but not massively so because the DSG is heaver than the manual gearbox (though I think this was already known), and that the right hand vent at the front (when facing the car) has a radiator (or cooler of some type) for the gearbox on the i4, but is empty on the V6. Obviously he mentioned that Lotus have detuned the i4 to 380bhp so it sits below the V6 in power, however when I asked if they're likely tune it higher in the future he mentioned that AMG don't want them to tune it above their own cars, so they may be limited contractually by how far they can actually take the engine in terms of power.

I mentioned the thicker steering wheel, which a few reviews have complained about, and I'm not a massive fan of (though it's certainly not a deal breaker) and he said that the diameter is the same as the GT4 racecar, and took the wheel out to let me hold it. The wheel is a lot more sculpted than the Evora, so where you actually place your hands it's not too thick, but the rest of the rim feels thicker than the quite plain Evora wheel.

It's a blessing and a curse. Frustrating when you want attention when trying to buy an expensive item, but the trade off is that you'll look more youthful as they all start to age!

As I said though, in this case it ended up becoming a big positive because I had a really nice one-on-one conversation. Fortunately I already have a relationship with my local Lotus dealer, so when it comes to it I shouldn't have to prove to them that "I am old enough to drive, honest, look, here's my license, I passed my test 16 years ago..."

With the gearbox being the tradeoff in weight of the i4, I assume that the gearbox will be quite low vs the weight penalty of the V6 + supercharger being quite high up relatively. That could mean that even if the weight is not too different overall, the balance may be significantly better on the i4. It's going to be super interesting to see reviews when they come out.

I really hope the black seal isn’t production or looks better in the flesh as that looks bloody awful and I have a red car on order.
