Holidays 2024

I gather there's to be a tribute to Lotus featured over the Revival weekend, termed "Lotus 75". Is this a thing? If so why no fanfare on TLF?

The wife and I have now and then discussed travel with a motorsport angle, recently pondering the Goodwood Revival as I much prefer Historics to contemporary machinery. Might be in our sights for 2025, having other plans in place for this year. We took in the Spa Six Hours a handful of years ago and had a fine time doing so, partly owing to its uncrowded setting. I understand Goodword is very popular and rightly so but what think those who've attended? Pro's and cons?

Cheers

If you do goto Goodwood I would recommend going hospitality. I've been several times and went this route last year, made a huge difference you get fed and watered and get clean toilets, can leave your bags in a locker etc... we went the basic hospitality and it was well worth it, you get a program, radio etc and the food so it works out good value. plus if it rains you can stay in the dry!

Less than a week and you won't hear from me for 2 weeks! I'll miss you all but not quite as much as I will enjoy doing nothing but eat, drink, swim and sunbathe (maybe with a little sightseeing!)

May be an image of 1 person, swimming, deck chair, pool and outdoors

May be an image of pool

May be an image of boat and Camogli

May be an image of horizon and ocean

Just back from my 16 day 9 Country road trip around Europe. 4050 Miles done and sadly spotted just 1 Lotus in that whole distance.

(Even Lambo spots were in double figures)

Lotus is a very rare sight unfortunately.

Thinking of a week in France.

Any great/fantastic but not massively expensive places to stay?

Happy to drive just about anywhere

Any recommendations on areas and/or places to stay would be much appreciated.

We did Normandy and Britanny earlier this year. Despite the poor weather, we had a great time. Not to far from UK either, and the more west you go, the more it resembles Cornwall.

I have made many mistakes in my life. Buying a multiple Lotus is not one of them.

We spent a week in a villa here 2 years ago, and @JNW3 knows the town very well.

Bormes les Mimosas is stunning - a proper beautiful little town in the hills overlooking the Med - very French still and not Euro trashy like much of the Cote D’Azur these days - great beaches, restaurants, winery’s, driving roads etc - been going there since 1978 and it’s as lovely as ever - highly recommended 😊

  • 1 month later...

How about spending 3 months of 3 year cruise on a ship in Belfast.

A 3 year cruise sounds pretty expensive, think you'd have to pay me to go.

I have virtually identical pictures especially of the waterfall. The beach looks identical to ours with the reef further out making the water lovely and smooth, though a lot of the beaches needed beach shoes.

Heading to the Giant's Causeway for the Autumn Club Lotus trip tomorrow for Friday arrival and a hopefully reasonably dry weekend in Northern Ireland / thereabouts.

Will post a picture or two when I get a chance, looks as though about 10 cars are planning to attend.

Totally agree. Turns me cold thinking of being on a boat with 3000 other people packed into a small space and unable to escape. Told where you are going, when to eat, sometimes what to eat,  and always with the people around you....oh yeah and with a 10 meter pool and 20 loungers round it!

Now this was my holiday, relaxation, no one around unless we wanted to and this place for me, Wendy and my son!! And we are going back again in 4 weeks!!
