BOOT CARPETS (Turbo Esprit battery/electrics cover)

Does anyone have an original Turbo Esprit carpeted battery cover that they would be prepared to lend us in aid of 'the cause'.

The cause being to help us help you keep your Turbo Esprits looking fresh and original.

As many of you know we've been supplying interior carpet and boot sets, and now have templates for the majority of our cars, we would like to be able to exactly duplicate the battery cover (10 ) and supply it with carpet pre attached to a board, to enable those with early boot bag cars and those with this nla part missing to be able to simply slot this part into place, rather than having to recover or fabricate a new perfectly fitting board themselves.

I can asure you that no harm will come to your beloved part, and it will be returned to you promptly along with a newly carpeted  copy free of charge.

Any help much appreciated.

That would be just the job Kevin, if i could borrow it for a few days to make a duplicate and templates, and return it along with a nice flat new one.

Will PM you.

Gents,

Just curious do you sell theses to strangers and how much is a new rear set complete with a battery board?
Do the panels come with the same edging trim I’ve got on mine?

Are they difficult to make and need any specialist tool, sewing machine I guess for a starter ?
I’m thinking of having ago, but no idea where to get the material or boards  are either.

Any help Is much appreciated, thx Adam👍

Being a self employed carpet supplier/fitter, I now find myself, as many others in these difficult times, somewhat struggling for an income.

So should anyone require new carpets for their Esprit, I'd be in my element self isolating whilst making a few sets, luggage compartment  or interior.

These great photos of one of our sets were posted on another site this week.

Will you stretch to Excel? I need a solution to front carpet/underlay. I would like to have a finished carpet to the footwells with sound-deadening attached to the underside, so I can remove both easily for cleaning and if any water ingresses.

PM if you can assist.

Slap wrist, didn't update this thread.

Thanks to @Kevin Wheelerand the use of his rather distorted original Lotus carpeted cardboard cover, we managed to produce this from flexible ABS plastic ...

Steve,

I own an 1986 Turbo Esprit HCI and have had it for 25 years.  I live in the US and am interested in a similar set for the luggage compartment and bulkhead as noted in the thread above.  Can you provide more information and pricing?

Thanks,

Ryan

I am buddy, though the dark grey is now lighter than the original Lotus anthracite.

Alternatively you could have them in black.

Cost £150 for the luggage compartment + £35 for the bulkhead window surround and quarterlight carpets.

Best regards Steve

Can you add a set of black ones to my wool interior set you are making please.

LHD S2 mate

I can Dave but, are you aware that the original luggage compartment and bulkhead carpets used by Lotus in the S1/S2 were a black loop pile cord, we use an automotive  needlepuch cord (but in black for the S2) as used S3 on.

I believe your interior carpet set is due to be started this week. 🍻
