The lowest I found was just over £1k with a box - but a friend of hers had a policy cancelled due to the box (well his driving standards, but the box dobbed him in), and his premium is now over £10k.

Admiral was £1.6k with, £2.1k without - so no brainer to go without. You do read of £4k without, so am reasonably happy.

The one who was providing the learner insurance is a broker who provides a lot of classic car insurance - obviously, doesn't want newly qualified drivers, which is understandable.

Also, her car can now go on the road rather than taking up space on the drive, and I can choose what to drive rather than the car easiest to get out - so that's another win.

@ChrisJ that's mad money, do you have Admiral Multi car. I insured my son who passed his test about 6 months ago 2019  Fiesta ST (the 3 pot one) for £1200 it dropped by £550 by adding my wife who will never drive it as she hates manuals (go figure) its parked on the drive and no black box

Chris, my lad went with ‘more than smart wheels’ who had him on the road with a box for £1200 the first year and £820 the second year. It’s due again next month so I’ll see what they quote now he’s just turned 20. 👍🏻🙂

Do or do not, there is no try!

Got another mole today, had set traps a couple of weeks ago, had a look this am and saw some new trails on the grass (the soil here is only a couple of inches and is really hard lower), stamped them down and after lunch went up to have another look, and another 6 ft of trails had appeared, went to stamp it down and the bit at the very end came back up again...... got pitch fork and stabbed the bugger.....

Just heard, Nitron have finally completed my shock rebuild. Great Birthday present.

Excited to get the elise off the wooden blocks and back on the road after a long wait, and with a load of stuff fixed can't wait to see what she's like.

Nice @Gjk, I do recall Clarion being good stuff way back in the day. Great result.

God doesn't want me, and the Devil isn't finished with me yet.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

Finding out that the clarion cd boot changer that has lay dormant for longer than I can remember started, shuffled and played without missing a beat! This along with tailoring the sound from the focal speakers I replaced the originals with made me one smug sod!

It'll be great to hear all your Bay City Rollers tunes again, eh?

Finding out that the door latch is faulty.

I'm not nor normally happy for a part to fail, but in this case it was good news. I'd tried for several days last summer to adjust the latch , and again this summer (not exactly a high priority car) but took the latch out, compared it to one from another car and realised it's not me being completely incompetent at adjusting the rods, it's the latch itself, so I can order a replacement and get it done.

Phone arrived at home 1/2 hour ago - 3 days earlier than expected. I can confirm that the security software had remotely wiped the phone, as I'm having to start afresh. Huge plus for ESET Mobile Security.

Excel likewise today, though I suspect some advisories, I haven't collected it yet. New owner due to pick up on Thursday - a sad but also happy day. Love Excel but time moves on.
